Clair de Lune is a deluxe hotel barge tastefully furnished with cherrywood and African hardwoods that provide a sophisticated, modern interior. She provides superior accommodation for up to 6 guests in three contemporary double or twin junior suites with en suite facilities, which make her ideal for family charters.
There is a comfortable, stylish dining area and saloon with picture windows and a large sundeck with a spa pool from which to admire the passing countryside, together with bicycles for exploring the towpath alongside this famous waterway.

5 days CAPESTANG to HOMPS – half board
Sunday, Day 1 – CAPESTANG
Guests are met at Narbonne and transferred by private chauffeured minibus to Clair de Lune. The
crew welcomes you on board with a glass of chilled champagne and canapés. Your first dinner on
board.
Monday, Day 2 – Capestang to La Croisade
After breakfast, we take an excursion out to Pezenas, a delightful village, mostly known for its
associations with the famous French playwright Molière, who is said to have written many plays
while staying there. Lunch is prepared by the chef on board, After the lunch you cruise to La
Croisade, You will take the dinner at the restaurant, on the banks of the canal.
Tuesday, Day 3 – La Croisade to Le Somail
In the morning we cruise to Le Somail one of the most charming villages on the Canal du Midi,
After lunch, we take you to the impressive village of Minerve, boasting a 12th century Cathar fort
surrounded by deep limestone gorges. Besieged by Simon de Montfort in 1210, its hilltop location
affords spectacular views. A fascinating recreation in miniature of the bloodthirsty Cathar rebellion
and a small museum complete this intriguing visit. On the way back to the hotel barge we visit a
producer of fine Minervois wines, Domaine Massamier La Mignarde, for a private tasting. Dinner
on local restaurant.
Wednesday, Day 4 – Le Somail to Argens-Minervois
After breakfast, we drive you to the beautiful city of Narbonne, a Roman Mediterranean capital
where the Visigoth monarchs once lived. Enjoy the Archbishop’s Palace and Roman Horreum and
explore the indoor market – les Halles de Narbonnes – at the hub of this bustling town where you
will have time to shop or simply absorb the relaxed atmosphere. Then we enjoy lunch in a typical
French restaurant close to Les Halles. After returning to Clair de Lune, a relaxing afternoon cruise
to Argens-Minervois. Dinner on board.
Thursday, Day 5 – Argens-Minervois to Homps
This morning you embark for the last cruise to Homps one of the main commercial harbor in the old
times, We will pass 4 Locks, Lunch ashore in the Homps restaurant on the banks of the Canal du
Midi,
After lunch on board, your guide will accompany you to the restored and most complete medieval
fortified city in existence today, dating back to the Gallo Roman era. With its 52 watchtowers,
portcullis and extraordinary repertoire of defences, it resisted the many armies that tried to storm
this Camelot setting. You can walk the ramparts and step back in time. Last dinner on board
Friday, Day 5 – Homps
After breakfast, guests are transferred by private chauffeured minibus to their choice of location in
Narbonne.
*This is a sample itinerary and is subject to change. On alternate weeks the cruise is in the reverse direction.
Rate Includes
- Transfer from the railway station or the nearest airport and return.
- Accommodation in a cabin fitted with a queen size bed or two single beds.
- Service in the cabin, the use of a bar-fridge and the complimentary drinks inside, a kettle and tray with teas and coffee.
- All meals served both on board Clair de Lune and in some outside restaurants. All the pre-drinks and beverages with the meals.
- Open bar : all drinks offered on board.
- Excursions as per the itinerary, including the guide and the entrance fees.
- The use of bicycles.
Does not Include
- Any insurance.
- Personal expenses.
- The gratuities to the crew (we recommend between 5 and 10% of the cruise rate depending on your level of satisfaction, payable in Euros to the Captain and then shared between all).
- Your own dry laundry or ironing.
- Telephone calls apart from the internet connections.

Payment Terms
- Deposit of 25% of the cost of the cruise for confirming the booking.
- The balance of 75% has to be paid 90 days prior the departure date of the cruise.
- The payment of the deposit means that these conditions have been accepted
